Delegates from  Virginia Tech Centre for Leadership in Global Sustainability (https://cligs.vt.edu/) visited Irish Rural Link this week. The Centre will conduct a Global Study in Ireland at the end of October or beginning of November 2023 as part of its Masters in Natural Resources Program.

The Faculty Team are in Ireland to lay the ground work for a Student Ten-day Global Study experience—part of the degree—to engage with real-world global sustainability challenges. The Global Study experience, will involve a curriculum that includes conversations with various experts and stakeholders, looking for diverse perspectives and voices that can accurately represent the issues from a local point of view.  The work of the National Rural Network is relevant for students to learn more about the ways in which Ireland is approaching the changes in its agricultural sector and how these initiatives compare to other cases in the rest of Europe and other countries.
